On this page we will try to describe how the Audio Note product line is organized.

There are almost 1000 products in the Audio Note product line, and they are arranged in various categories. Understanding the categorizations makes understanding the product line much easier.

Families

Each component has a family it belongs to.

All components in the family share a common 'architecture' or 'design'. The circuits are all laid out the same and they all appear the same from the outside, except for the component's name on the faceplate. On the inside they look largely the same, as well, but as you move up in quality, in price, in each family of components, the components are constructed using better parts. Better parts like silver wire and advanced silver-wound transformers, black gate capacitors, and other more expensive, and better sounding, parts are used.

Power Amplifiers

There are several families of amplifiers. Each family can be categorized according to the kind of output tube used by the amplifier. There are now also high and low-gain versions of many of these amplifiers. The amplifiers use the same chassis, but increase in quality, and price, but not necessarily in power output, as you move down the lists.

Integrated Amplifiers

There are several families of integrated amplifiers. Each family uses a specific type of output tube, the tube which is used by the integrated amplifier to produce power (watts) to drive a speaker. The integrated amplifiers use the same chassis, but increase in quality, and price, but not necessarily in power output, as you move down the lists.

Loudspeakers

There are several families of speakers. Each family uses a specific size of speaker cabinet. There are now also high and normal efficiency speakers in each family.  The speakers use the same cabinet, but increase in quality as you move down the list.
